Oh, hey! Long time no see!

Wow... It's been a long long time..  My last post was more than 8 months ago!
A LOT of things happened since then. My last job (teaching Game Design), which started pretty nice, turned into a nightmare, thanks to an awful administration. I loved what I was doing, but not where I was doing.. So I quit!
Almost immediately, a lot of happy coincidences took place and, to keep it short, I moved to Rio de Janeiro last september and got a great job as illustrator for a game company. I'm now surrounded with nice, competent and cheerful people. :)

In other, more art-related, news, I was part of a Lord of the Rings art tribute with some other cool artists.

Minas Morgul

I also started practicing watercolor! Lots of things to learn, but I'm really enjoying it!

plen air painting of Sugar Loaf, Rio.

I guess that's it for now.. See ya soon!

Matters of Life and Death

Still looking for that 'oil painting' look.
This one was quite challenging, but it turned out fine, I think. Not 100% happy with it, but I felt like it was time to move on.
What do you think about it? Leave a comment and let me know! :)

Ice Dragon

My first spitpaint!
Just couldn't let such nice theme as an Ice Dragon go away without giving it a try ;)
I know that I tend to spend too much time on the details, so for this one I tried to plan everything on my head before actually start painting.
It's quite a good exercise, btw. Gotta try it more times.

New website and some sketches

Hi everybody!
New website layout is up and running! Go check it out, and tell me what you think!!

Things are going quite busy here, and, unfortunately, there isn't much I can show you for now, besides these sketches:

Hopefully, soon enough, I'll bring some big news!

Jungle Ruins

Hi there!
It's been a while, but there's a reason to that: I recently started teaching Game Design, so it's taking my time a bit. But I'm loving to revisit my game developing background! As you may guess, I have focused on digital painting after my Game Design graduation back in 2010, and it's still my main passion, so there's always time for sketching a little.

Here I tried to achieve a more traditional look. I'm really happy with how it turned out, mainly the vegetation (see it in hires), but there's too much still to learn.. There always is!

Aurora

Hi there!
A little while ago I painted book cover for "Hospedeira das Cinzas". A fantasy, action-packed novel written by brazilian author Lucas Moraga.
Yesterday I got the green light to reveal it, so here it is:

WIP, as usual:
